Promotion to the North East Premier League Division 1

On the final day of the season the first team defeated Tudhoe to finish second in the league.
They finished the season strongly, making it five wins on the bounce to end 50 points ahead of third placed Marsden and 28 adrift of champions Easington.
Well done to captain Shaun and the team.

This means that the Club has been promoted to the North East Premier League (NEPL) and will play in the following leagues:-

1st XI - 1st Division
2nd XI - 3rd Division
3rd XI -  Sunday 3rd Division
3rd XI (midweek) - Midweek League
Junior teams will be represented at U11, U13 and U15 levels.

The 1st XI will also compete in the Banks Salver, Banks Bowl and T20 1st XI competitions while the 2nd team will compete in the Banks Cup, Banks Shield and T20 2nd XI competitions

The second team signed off with a big 10 wicket win at Tudhoe to also finish runners up, a really commendable performance by Stephen Robinson's young side.   Before the start of the season it was the aim to include as many young players in the second XI and the decision has paid off, with several improving their skills.

The third team successfully finished second in the Hetton Lyons Sunday League as a result of the final day win against Kimblesworth.

All four junior teams did well, a real credit to the club thanks to the dedication of Stephen Robinson who has worked really hard to make sure we fulfilled our fixtures and that the young players were given every opportunity.

We fielded nine teams and the ladies team during the season and unlike a number of clubs, played every game.

The club is in a strong position but we cannot rest on our laurels, running local cricket clubs these days is not easy but I think we can look forward to next season with confidence.
